The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) has charged a 21-year-old daycare employee following a sexual assault investigation.
On April 8, a parent called police to report an incident involving their child at a west Edmonton daycare.
Through investigation, officers identified teaching assistant Kulraj Singh as the suspect, who was then suspended by his employer. His childcare certification has also been suspended.
On April 21, Singh was arrested and charged with sexual assault and sexual interference.
Singh was released on bail with conditions including having no contact with the complainant, not attending public swimming pools, schools or school yards, daycares, playgrounds, libraries or youth shelters unless accompanied by a sober adult who is aware of the charges, and not seeking or maintaining any position of trust or authority over a person under the age of 16.
Police say Singh also worked at a second daycare in central Edmonton and believe there could be additional victims.
Anyone with information about potential additional assaults is asked to contact Edmonton police at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone.
