A Walk to End Violence recognizing Missing and Murdered Indigenous People (MMIP) will take place on Sunday, May 3, beginning in Stony Plain and ending at the Skydancer Indigenous Cultural Centre.
Dianne Meili, Founder and President of the Skydancer Indigenous Cultural Society, tells CFWE as the walk enters its fourth year, the route serves as a reminder that violence against Indigenous people continues.
Meili speaks on the riderless horses that will lead this years walk, that will have red ties in their mane and tails. Adding that there is a deep rooted connection with horses and MMIW.
