Applications are currently open for the position of Stony Plain’s Artist Laureate for 2026/2027. The application process began on March 30, providing an opportunity for the community to support local artists and allow artists from the surrounding area to showcase their work. The deadline for applications is April 24.
Chantelle Laberge, the Cultural and Tourism Officer for the town, tells CFWE that anyone is eligible to apply for the position of Stony Plain’s Artist Laureate.
Previously known as the Poet Laureate Program, which started in 2018, the town decided to expand the program to allow artists not only from Stony Plain but also from the surrounding areas to have a chance to become the Artist Laureate.
