The National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls and Two-Spirit People is on May 5, 2026 across Canada.
It was created by Metis Artist Jaime Black bringing awareness to this national issue.
There will be a Red Dress Vigil walk in Edmonton on May 5, 2026 at the Eastwood Community Hall at 3pm.
Soup, bannock, and refreshments will be served.
Red dresses are hung in public spaces symbolizing missing and murdered women and girls, creating visual and emotional representation of the crisis.
