The City of Red Deer has approved a development permit to extend its emergency shelter agreement with Hope Mission for one year.
Breton Driedger, spokesperson for Hope Mission in Red Deer, tells CFWE the organization is grateful for the extension, allowing them to continue providing essential shelter services while working toward establishing a permanent facility in the city.
Driedger adds that, beyond providing food and shelter, the service is a first step toward health and wholeness for those in need, while Hope Mission continues to act as a good neighbor through fencing, security and community outreach.
