Arrests have been made following a shots-fired incident on Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation in northern Alberta.
On March 25th, 2026, Valleyview RCMP responded to reports of gunfire at a residence. Police say two adult men fled the scene in a stolen vehicle but were later located and arrested at another home within the community.
That same day, officers executed a search warrant connected to the incident. Investigators seized firearms, prohibited weapons, ammunition, as well as significant quantities of drugs, including 110 grams of cocaine, 51 grams of methamphetamine, and 269 grams of a cutting agent.
Eighteen-year-old Darcy Kappo faces multiple charges, including possession for the purpose of trafficking, reckless discharge of a firearm, assault, and possession of stolen property.
Twenty-six-year-old Darcy Chalifoux is also facing several charges, including possession for the purpose of trafficking, forcible confinement, assault, and reckless discharge of a firearm.
Both men remain in custody and are scheduled to appear in Alberta Court of Justice in Valleyview later this month.
