Edmonton to Host World Nations Cup Rugby Games at Clarke Stadium

Clarke Stadium in Edmonton will host three international rugby matches this summer as part of the inaugural World Nations Cup tournament. Team Canada will compete against Spain on July 4 and Portugal on July 11. Additionally, Spain will face Tonga on July 11, before the Canadian game.

Traci Bernard, CEO and President of Explore Edmonton, tells CFWE that a key factor in bringing rugby back to Edmonton is the city’s strong reputation as a sports city.

Nathan Bombrys, CEO of Rugby Canada, tells CFWE that they reached out to several cities interested in hosting games, and Edmonton stepped up.
