Edmonton will host the International Indigenous Tourism Conference from February 17-19 at the Edmonton Convention Centre, bringing together Indigenous tourism leaders, entrepreneurs, and partners from across Canada and beyond.
Keith Henry, President and CEO of the Indigenous Tourism Association of Canada (ITAC), tells CFWE the 13th Indigenous International Indigenous Tourism Conference promotes Canada as a leading Indigenous tourism destination.
Henry adds that he loves to see Canadians embrace Indigenous culture and art in multiple destinations, saying that it’s part of reconciliation and helping Indigenous to be proud of their identity, with the theme of this years conference being “Walk With Us”.
Henry highlights the vital role of Indigenous tourism in uplifting Indigenous businesses and landmarks, helping set Canada apart as a global destination – a key part of the association’s vision for 2030.
