Edmonton is set to celebrate with this weekend as organizers launched the Deep Freeze Festival for January 17-18. The annual event returns to Alberta Avenue with art, culture and family-friendly activities designed to embrace the cold and bring the community together.
Christy Morin, Artistic Director and General Manager of Deep Freeze, tells CFWE the festival is celebrating its 19 year and kicking off Edmonton’s festival season this weekend.

Morin says warmer weather this weekend will make it more challenging for sculptors to maintain their ice creations for visitors throughout the Deep Freeze Festival.
Morin says Alberta Avenue brings together cultures, music and food, with artists showcased under this year’s theme ‘Under the Stars’.
