The countdown is on for the 2026 Lakeland Region Alberta Winter Games, set to take over Bonnyville, Cold Lake, and Glendon from February 13-16. Athletes from across the province of Alberta will compete in a wide range of winter sports, with the multi-day event celebrating youth sport, community spirit, and regional pride across the Lakeland.
Violet LaPointe, Games Manager for the Lakeland Region Alberta Winter Games tells CFWE she’s excited to welcome athletes from across the province to experience the competition and Lakeland hospitality.
Lapointe highlights what athletes can expect from the AWG, from overnight stay in the Athletes Villages, along with catering of food from local cuisine and hospitality in the Lakeland Region.
LaPointe adds the AWG is often underestimated, giving athletes lasting memories and key stepping stones in their athletic journeys.
