With the holiday season approaching, the Salvation Army in Lloydminster is working to distribute hundreds of Christmas hampers, helping families access hot meals and ensuring children have something special on Christmas morning.
Bond Jennings, Community Ministries Officer with the Salvation Army Lloydminster, tells CFWE the goal is to prepare 550 hampers this year. As of today, 400 have already been accounted for, with more requests expected in the coming days.
Jennings says the hampers include essential items like vegetables and oranges, along with a grocery gift card to help families purchase meat and other necessities.
Jennings says he hopes those receiving support know their community cares, and that every child deserves something special under the Christmas tree.
