With the holidays fast approaching, the Olive Tree in Lloydminster is facing a high demand for food hampers, as more families turn to the organization for support.
Jana Thompson, Chief Operating Officer with The Olive Tree tells CFWE more the 1,700 hampers have already been distributed across the community in November and December, with demand continuing to rise as staff work to keep the pace.
Thompson says there’s a strong need for non-perishable items, including pasta, sauces, granola bars, and oatmeal for kids.
Thompson adds that staff and volunteers are working hard to meet the growing demand, ensuring that with their continuous work and the support from doners, hamper distribution wouldn’t be made possible.
