Two new Veterans Memorial Crosswalks have been painted in Stony Plain to honour those who have served and sacrificed for Canada.
The crosswalks are located at the intersection of Veteran’s Boulevard and 44 Avenue and at the entrance of the Stony Plain Legion. Each design features two red maple leaves and the words “In honour of those who served and sacrificed”
“The Legion’s idea to add these crosswalks in town was an easy one to support,” says Mayor William Choy. “These crosswalks will serve as powerful symbols of gratitude and remembrance, and remind us of the courage, service, and sacrifice of those who have defended our freedoms.”
The project was developed in partnership with the Stony Plain Legion and reflects the Town’s ongoing commitment to recognizing local veterans and supporting initiatives that preserve their legacy.
The crosswalks will remain a permanent feature in Stony Plain and serve as a year-round reminder of respect and remembrance for all who have served.
