The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) Homicide Section is continuing its investigation into the disappearance of 14-year-old Samuel Bird.
Homicide detectives are now presuming Samuel Bird is deceased and believe his death is criminal in nature.
Over 100 supporters showed up at the EPS headquarters to hear about the updates on Samuel Bird.

Later in the afternoon that Day a Vigil was held at Dawson Park to honour Samuel. CFWE talked with close members of the family and community supporters on the effect this story brings.
Investigators have released new details on Samuel’s last known movements on June 1, 2025:
He was last seen on surveillance video at approximately 8:30 p.m. walking through the grounds of Holy Cross School near 151 Street and 104 Avenue.
Following this, he went to a friend’s residence in the area of 150 Street and 106 Avenue, where he was last definitively seen.
Police executed a search warrant at this residence in September 2025.
