Lakeshore Regional Police Service and Faust RCMP investigated reports of a weapon near Eva Road on Driftpile First Nation on August 15. Upon arrival, they found the body of a man later identified as 29 year old Brandon Lee Campiou.
An autopsy was scheduled for August 18. It confirmed that Campiou’s death was a result of homicide.
32 year old Blake Francis Giroux of Edmonton was charged with manslaughter. He’s scheduled to appear in High Prairie’s Alberta Court of Justice on August 25.
