RCMP say they seized drugs and weapons from a man who was sleeping in his vehicle in Clairmont over the weekend.
Officers responded to reports of a man slumped over at the wheel in the middle of the road around 7:40 a.m. on Saturday. When they arrived, police saw the man heavily asleep with drug paraphernalia in plain sight.
A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of a flame thrower, a loaded crossbow, a prohibited knife, 99 grams of suspected meth, 19 grams of suspected fentanyl as well as drug trafficking paraphernalia and $2,080 in cash.
Police say the drugs were stored in a back pack labeled “support your local drug dealer.”
As a result of the search, a 40-year-old man from Dawson Creek, B.C., faces several charges including possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl; possession for the purpose of trafficking meth; and unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon.
The man was remanded into custody and appeared in court Monday.
