Fort McMurray emergency officials say no people were reportedly physically injured in a house fire on Monday, but a dog passed away.
Regional Emergency Services say that on August 11 around 6:30 p.m., firefighters responded to reports of smoke coming from a home on Wilson Drive. Crews arrived to find flames and smoke coming from the eaves and the roof of the home.
Two pumper trucks, a ladder truck and several units brought the fire under control, and fully extinguished the flames later in the evening. The home suffered significant fire, smoke and water damage.
Fire investigators confirmed that the smoke alarms were working and alerted the residents to the fire.
The cause is still under investigation.
