RCMP investigating suspicious deaths in Elizabeth Metis Settlement

On May 21, Cold Lake RCMP received a report of a structure fire at a residence on Township Road 610 Elizabeth Metis Settlement.

Upon arrival, emergency responders were able to remove one resident from the home however they were deceased.

Fire crews extinguished the blaze however the home suffered extensive damage.

An additional search of the home found the remains of a second individual.

The remains of both people were taken to the Edmonton office of the chief medial examiner who will work with the RCMP to positively identify the remains.
