Mounties in Wood Buffalo are investigating after a serious motor vehicle collision claimed the life of a young man in the parsons Creek area of Fort McMurray.
On May 1, 2025 at approximately 9:20 pm, Wood Buffalo RCMP say the lone male driver of a dirt bike had collided with an unoccupied, parked vehicle. The male was found to be in serious life-threatening condition and was taken by EMS to Northern Lights Regional Health Center in Fort McMurray. Witnesses reported seeing the dirt bike operate at a high rate of speed on Heritage Drive before the driver lost control and collided with the other vehicle.
The driver, a 22-year-old male resident of Fort McMurray, later succumbed to his injuries in hospital. Wood Buffalo RCMP would like to extend our sincerest condolences to the family, friends and loved ones of the deceased.
Wood Buffalo RCMP Municipal Traffic Services continue to investigate the collision.
