
Alberta Pond Hockey Championships
The Alberta Pond Hockey Championships returns on March 7 – 9, bringing three days of fast-paced, outdoor hockey action to the frozen surface of Lac Cardinal Lake. This annual event, set in the picturesque Lac Cardinal area near Grimshaw, celebrates Canada’s favorite pastime in it’s purest form under the open sky, with teams battling for glory on the ice. Players and fans alike can expect an electrifying atmosphere, showcasing skill, sportsmanship, and community, spirit in a truly authentic hockey experience.
Dave Allan, president of the Alberta Pond Hockey Association spoke with CFWE on the his excitement on the upcoming tournament, with 50 teams coming from across the province to play in the three day championship event.

Allan adds that the championship’s is about sportsmanship and the comradery shared on the ice amongst the teams in the event, with enjoying the day with family and friends in the three day tournament.
