The Fort Chipewyan Winter carnival is this weekend and this year it has a special youth hockey skills camp that will see the Jr. A Fort McMurray Oil Barons help the youth with their skills.
The initiative, with support from Imperial and Wahkohtowin Sports Circle aims to reignite Fort Chipewyan’s hockey program, providing youth athletes with training, mentorship and new hockey equipment.
John Tuttauk is Imperial’s community relations lead for the Athabasca area and gives an insight into what people can expect this weekend.
