An investigation is underway into a fatal stabbing that took place Saturday on the Alexis Nakota Nation.
Responding to reports of a stabbing at a residence on the First Nation, Mayerthorpe RCMP located the 28-year-old victim, Elzeare Cardinal, who was dead.
Officers arrested 33-year-old Dalton Earl Cardinal, who was charged with second-degree homicide.
Cardinal was remanded into custody.
He’s scheduled to appear in court in Mayerthorpe on Feb. 13.
