The Grande Prairie Friendship Centre will be celebrating 60 years of service at their 4th Annual Grande Gathering Gala at the Bonnets Energy Centre in Grande Prairie on April 12, that will showcase Indigenous talent, culture and strength.
Lois Duke, Chair of the Grande Gathering Gala spoke with CFWE, saying it’s a monumental event to celebrate 60 years of serving both Indigenous and non-Indigenous community members in Grande Prairie by showcasing the culture and talent at the Grande Gathering Gala.

Each year of the Grande Gathering Gala is an opportunity for Indigenous artists in the area to showcase their talent on stage, last year’s performance was presented by JUNO award winner Aysanabee, with this year’s popular demand to have ‘The Prairie States’ perform, along with a potential Metis Fiddler to perform at the Gala.

Duke adds that the main focus of the event is to showcase Indigenous peoples in a different light with talent, art and the people that contribute towards the community of Grande Prairie.
