The award gives the community an opportunity to recognize youth who make a positive impact, and winners of each category will be entered to win the Youth Excellence Citizen of the Year Award.
Nomination forms can be completed online and must be submitted by 5 p.m. on March 31.
The award categories are:
- Inspiration Award (ages eight to 18)
- Service & Caring Award (ages eight to 18)
- Arts & Culture Award (ages eight to 18)
- Athletic Ambassador Award (ages eight to 18)
- Spark Champion: Awarded to an adult who has gone above and beyond to be a champion for youth in the community (ages 19+)
Nomination qualifications and guidelines:
- Lives or goes to school in Sylvan Lake, OR
- Lives within 15 kms of Sylvan Lake and has gone to school in Sylvan Lake
- Must fall within the age range by the nomination deadline
- Winners may only receive a Youth Spark Award once in their lifetime
- Nominators must be outside the child’s immediate family
