The Grande Prairie Regional Sport Connection’s Winter Try-It Day returns on January 18 to showcase sports organizations across the region for the community’s youth.
Heather Llewellyn, Acting Executive Director with Grande Prairie Regional Sport Connection spoke with CFWE on her excitement about Try-It Day, which will see the youth try 80 different types of sports at 15 venues to showcase facilities and clubs across the region.

Llewellyn says it’s great to see the youth discovering a sport they fall in love with, with community members giving feedback on the Try-It Day event, adding that the day opened doors for children to become athletes in the Arctic Winter Games and many sporting events in the community.

Llewellyn is hopeful that the youth walk away finding something they love to do, with the help of getting connected to sports and club organizations to grow within Grande Prairie with new athletes.
