A crash North of Edmonton involving a train and a semi-truck has left one person in hospital.
On Tuesday afternoon, Morinville RCMP responded to a collision approximately 30 minutes South of Westlock, when a semitruck and a train collided near Highway 44 and Township Road 570 according to an RCMP news release.
The semi was occupied by two people and the driver was treated for minor injuries on scene while the passenger was airlifted by STARS with life-threatening injuries.
Lifts of lumber could be seen scattered on the road while the incident affected traffic.
There is nothing to suggest that the train went of the tracks or that it was carrying hazardous materials according to Cpl. Troy Savinkoff , an RCMP spokesperson.
According to Mounties, CN is now investigating the crash
