Grande Prairie Friendship Centre's Winter Solstice
The Grande Prairie Friendship Centre will host the Winter Solstice Celebration at the Evergreen Park Old Timer’s Cabin on December 20.
Shelia Moerkoert, communications coordinator with the Grande Prairie Friendship Centre, spoke with CFWE about her excitement for people to come out to celebrate and connect while enjoying the Christmas spirit.
Moerkoert says that transportation will be provided for people to Evergreen Park’s Old Timers Cabin, adding that the event is a great opportunity to visit with one another and reflect on the year along with looking forward to the remainder of the winter season and new year.
Moerkoert goes on to say that she is hopeful that the community will come together to foster connection with Indigenous and Non-Indigenous members and start the Christmas holidays in a good way.
