This year’s New Year’s Eve, Sir Winston Churchill Square will be ushering in 2025 with the New Year’s Eve Downtown Festival and Fireworks from 6 PM until Midnight.
Meshkin Makari, Supervisor of Civic Centre Programs and Events spoke with CFWE, saying it’s one of their most exciting time of the year, with musical performances and a firework display at midnight.
Makari adds that he is hopeful attendees get the opportunity to see the vibrancy of the downtown core in Edmonton, along with participating in the various activities in Churchill Square, the Arts District, and the Entertainment District, and a watch party and New Year’s Eve Concert at the Ice District Plaza.
Makari speaks on the Entertainment District as an opportunity for more activities to be experienced within the City of Edmonton for community members to celebrate the New Year, with other facilities such as the Art District opening up for New Year’s Eve.
