The Edmonton Oil Kings Annual Teddy Bear Toss is set to return to Rogers Place on November 24th when they are set to take on the Red Deer Rebels.
For the first time ever, the Edmonton Oil Kings unveiled a one-of-a-kind jerseys for the game in a theme that hasn’t been done before, to bring on the holiday spirit. The Teddy Bear Toss game worn jerseys will be auctioned off with all proceeds going towards the Santa’s Anonymous.
Kevin Randomski, Business Operations Director of the Edmonton Oil Kings spoke with CFWE, saying it’s an exciting time in the organization, with the players donning the Teddy Bear Toss themed Jerseys, along with raising funds and bears for families that need it most for the holidays.
Randomski adds that it’s a special time for the organization with the community in full support for as last year over 14,700 bears where tossed in last years event.
When it comes to this years Teddy Bear goal, Randomski is hopeful that they raise over 15,000 bears on Sundays game.
Angel Benedict, executive director of Santa’s Anonymous says it’s a highlight of the year, with each donated bear being a part of a gift package that will be given to children for the holidays.
Benedict speaks on the powerful moment she witnessed many Teddy Bears raining down to the ice, giving the goosebump feel from the bears being donated to children through Santa’s Anonymous.
