RCMP in Fort McMurray are looking for a Jeep in connection with a possible abduction.
On Wednesday November 6, 2024 at 7:20 p.m., Wood Buffalo RCMP responded to a complaint of a possible abduction near Athabasca Avenue in Abasand.
The complainant reported to police that at approximately 7:00 pm., they witnessed an unknown female jump out of a vehicle and run into the field behind the Abasand Esso and Father Beauregard School.
The vehicle, described as a Black Jeep, then drove onto the field after the female ran away and one or two occupants from the vehicle exited, grabbing the unknown female back into the Jeep and then left the area.
The Jeep was last seen leaving the area northbound. Wood Buffalo RCMP along with Police Dog Services responded to assist but were unable to locate the suspicious vehicle or its occupants.
The driver of the black Jeep was described as a white man with “scruffy” silver hair. He reportedly had a passenger, “possibly female,” wearing a grey sweater.
Mounties said officers and a dog team were not able to find the Jeep or the people involved. RCMP are asking residents of the area to check security footage.
