The Columbus Blue Jackets made a statement yesterday, taking control of their game against the Oilers early and thumped the Oil 6-1. Sean Monahan had two goals, Cole Sillinger added a goal and two assists, and Adam Fantilli and Mathieu Olivier also scored for Columbus, and Kirill Marchenko had two assists.
Edmonton now sits one game below .500 with a 4-5-1 record, Head coach Kris Knoblauch addressed his teams efforts following the loss.
Captain Connor McDavid left the game with an apparent lower-body injury and was sent back to Edmonton for further tests. Knoblauch gave his early assessment on the injury.
Up next for Edmonton will be a trip down to Nashville Thursday, before heading north to Calgary for a battle of Alberta.
