The Edmonton Oilers have now hit .500 (4-4-1) with a road victory in the Motor City Sunday afternoon. Leon Draisaitl scored his second goal of the game 18 seconds into overtime and the Edmonton Oilers beat the Detroit Red Wings 3-2.
Evan Bouchard scored the other goal for the Oil, while backup Calvin Pickard made 25 shots en-route to his second victory of the young season. Connor McDavid and defenceman Mattias Ekholm each chipped in with two assists.
Head Coach Kris Knoblauch spoke to media following the victory discussing Draisaitl’s contributions with his 3 points, on his birthday.
