Officials confirmed that a 4.5-magnitude earthquake happened 39 kilometres south of Grande Prairie on Thursday.
No damage or injuries have been reported.
On the federal governments Earthquakes Canada website, officials say the tremor was lightly felt in McBride, B.C., and occured at 3:13 p.m. local time.
This is the second confirmed earthquake in Alberta this month. On October 6, a 4.1-magnitude quake occurred about 95 kilometres east of Grande Prairie.
No damage or injuries were reported in that incident.
