Despite Connor McDavid’s efforts the Edmonton Oilers had troubles playing a full 60 minutes last night, losing to the Carolina Hurricanes 3-2 in overtime.
After going down 2-0 against the Edmonton Oilers, the Hurricanes mounted a third-period comeback and levelled the score. Sebastian Aho then put away the game-winning strike with just 6.1 seconds remaining in the overtime session to give Carolina a 3-2 win.
Edmonton’s lone contributor on the goal sheet was captain Connor McDavid. McDavid had his 57th two goal game of his career. He spoke to media following the loss on his teams efforts over the last few games.
A few members of the Oilers who are accustomed on finding the back of the net, have yet to score this season. Head coach Kris Knoblauch mentioned it’s a long season and his staff will do whatever they can to help players get back in their groove.
Up next for the Oilers will be a Friday night matchup against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
