The Maskwacis Employment Centre hosted their Fall Job Fair inside the Howard Buffalo Memorial Center, to connect youth and residents with employment opportunities and pathways towards post-secondary education.
Lacey Yellowbird, executive director of Maskwacis Employment Centre spoke with CFWE as she says she’s excited to see community members coming out to the job fair to see the many opportunities that they have access too.
Yellowbird speaks on the cultural showcase of traditional dancing and drumming to kick off the job fair as a way to showcase the culture to over 80 organizations in a First Nations perspective.
Yellowbird says that over 82 vendors spanned across the Job Fair that featured Post-Secondary education, careers and services for the community in Maskwacis and beyond.
Yellowbird says she hopes that residents know their is opportunities out their outside the reservation with hopes of the job fair to continue in growth in support of the community.
