A man is facing numerous charges related to guns and weapons after failing to pay his transit fare on Edmonton Transit.
Edmonton Transit peace officers detained a man on Oct. 7 after failing to provide proof of payment at the Capilano Transit terminal located at approximately 98 Avenue and 56 Street in South East Edmonton.
Edmonton Police were dispatched and it was determined that the man had warrants for his arrest.
Upon search of the man, officers found a firearm and over $600 worth of drugs.
Francois Garrick DeMarre Lapratt, 24 years old is now facing the following charges:
Possession of a prohibited firearm (x3)
Contravened regulation
Possession of a firearm knowing possession unauthorized
Knowingly Possess prohibited /restricted weapon
Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition readily accessible
Possession of a controlled substance (x3)
Demarre Lapratt is scheduled to appear in an Edmonton court room on Oct. 30, 2024
