Strathcona RCMP responded to a collision of a semi and a train on Tuesday afternoon.
On Oct. 8, 2024, at 11 a.m., RCMP responded to the complaint of a train vs semi collision just north of Highway 15.
Preliminary investigation revealed a semi attempted to cross the railway tracks and was struck by an oncoming train.
The semi sustained minor damage and initially left the scene, but returned soon afterward. The train did not contain hazardous goods, but did blocki intersections at Hwy 29, Range Road 195 and Range Road 201, causing delays for several hours.
A nearby resident Jenna-Lee Abramic filmed the ordeal and reported it to local authorities:

Motorists were asked to avoid the area and choose an alternate route. No word yet if charges are being laid.
