A kidnapping victim was found by police during a traffic stop in northern Alberta earlier this month. RCMP have arrested four of the five suspects involved in the crime.
Crews attempted to stop a vehicle in John D’Or Prairie on October 1st as it was related to another incident they were investigating.
The suspect driver evaded police, driving into two police cars in the process, following a pursuit, crews disabled the vehicle and five people fled on foot. After investigating the vehicle, police found the sixth occupant, a 36 year old woman who had been kidnapped.
Four of the five suspects have been arrested for an assortment of crimes including kidnapping, flight from a police officer and multiple weapons offences. Crews know the identity of the 5th suspect and have warrants out for their arrest.
The kidnapped woman was flown to hospital with serious injuries, but is expected to survive.
