Four of six Semo Complex fires now being held

Alberta Wildfire say that four out of the six Semo Complex wildfires in the High Level Forest Area are now being held.

The fires had forced the evacuation of Fox Lake, John D’Or Prairie and Garden River.

Two of the wildfires are still out-of-control, one is 10 kilometres northeast of John D’Or Prairie and has burned over 103,000 hectares.

The second is located 13 kilometres northwest of Garden River and has burned over 6,300 hectares.

The four fires that are now being held, have burned a combined area close to 87,000 hectares.
