Following a dismal start to the season, the Edmonton Elks will be making a change in the QB room.
Canadian QB Tre Ford will replace McLeod Bethel-Thompson in the Week 9 matchup against the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Bethel-Thompson struggled in his matchup against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Ford replaced MBT in the fourth quarter and threw for 121 yards and three touchdowns.
Ford spoke to media following the loss and said it was nice to get back in the groove and find rhythm with the starters.
Tre Ford brings a different look on offense, in 2023 he threw for 2069 yards and added 622 yards on the ground with 15 total touchdowns. With Ford now in the starting QB spot, he credits alot of his growth this season to McLeod Bethel-Thompson.
The Elks face the Roughriders in Regina on Saturday at 5 p.m.
