The Second Chance Animal Rescue Society (SCARS) is sounding the alarm as it faces unprecedented challenges.
Overcrowding and dwindling resources have put the organization in a dire situation, urgently needing adoptions and food donations to continue it’s mission of rescuing and rehabilitating abandoned and neglected animals.
Brenda Leonard, SCARS fundraising coordinator spoke with CFWE about the overwhelming situation of calls and limited space for the animals in need.

Leonard adds that the SCARS facilities are continuing to face near empty shelves of food for the animals, in their Morinville facility alone, the dogs residing in the rescue shelter go through 100-pounds of dog food everyday.
Leonard speaks on how many can contribute towards SCARS by visiting their website at scarscare.ca or by purchasing food at a G & E Pharmacy.
Leonard shares how someone can adopt an animal they are interested in.
