The Edmonton Elks will be hosting their home opener Saturday June 8th and hoping to help out the Edmonton Food Bank with a reason to donate.
Last year’s Tackle Hunger Game Day Food Drive raised more than 50,000 pounds of food for Edmonton’s Food Bank. Evan Daum is the Vice President of Marketing & Fan Engagement with the Edmonton Elks and joined CFWE to discuss the importance of ‘Let’s Tackle Hunger’.
Fans are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items for donation such as:
- beans
- canned fish / meat
- rice
- lentils
- peanut butter
- healthy school snacks
- canned soup
In exchange for all food donations, fans will have the chance to take a photo with the iconic Grey Cup. Daum hopes Elks fans and Edmonton residents can come together to surpass the 50,000 pounds from last year.
