The Bonnyville Friendship Centre held announcement the approval and formal intent to proceed with the with acquisition of land and the new build of both a Women’s Shelter for Women and Children experiencing domestic violence, but also a Transitional Housing Facility for women as well.
CFWE spoke with Joanna Mason, CEO of Alberta Native Friendship Centre Association speaks on her excitement on the newly announced facilities for the women and Children within the community that would benefit from the services provided by the Centre.

Mason adds that it has been a long time coming for the region of Bonnyville to receive these services that the facilities will provide, with many women in need of a place to go and away from a hostile environment, and says that what the community is doing to bring it to life is simply remarkable.
