It has been 65 years since the original Barbie doll was released on March 9, 1959 and Mattel is celebrating by revealing new Barbie Role Models. And Shania is one of them!
Mattel has released new dolls in conjunction with International Women’s Day since 2018.
Twain recently showed off her doll on social media, writing, “All I’ve wanted to do my whole life is tell stories of empowerment, independence and self-expression through my songwriting, getting to do that and inspire women and girls along the way is the dream… everything else is a beautiful bonus! It means a lot to expand my responsibility as a role model into the Barbie world.”
Shania’s Barbie is dressed in the iconic outfit from her 1999 music video for “Man! I Feel Like a Woman!” plus, her pink hair she’s been seen with on her Queen of Me Tour!
Barbie Role Models that were released this year, include Dame Helen Mirren, Maira Gomez, Nicole Fujita, Viola Davis, Enissa Amani, Kylie Minogue, and Lila Avilés.
