The Indigenous People’s Experience in Fort Edmonton Park hosted the Indigenous Storytelling Series over the weekend, sharing the culture of the Cree, Dene and the Metis with community members.
Evert Poor, Indigenous Narrative Coordinator for the Indigenous People’s Experience spoke with Windspeaker Radio Network about his excitement for the event, and for many to take in the culture from the stories shared.
Poor speaks on the mature themes of the stories, and how it will give an understanding to those who seek more about the Indigenous cultures and teachings.
Pam Greene, Indigenous Historian Interpreter at the Indigenous Peoples Experience at Fort Edmonton Park speaks on the themes of the stories from the Cree, Dene and the Metis cultures, along with how storytelling will create connections during the winter months with one another.
Greene says that many young attendees at the Indigenous Peoples Experience find their whole world view changed after hearing the stories along with seeking for more information about their culture.
