After a very slow start to the season, the Edmonton Oilers look like one of the best teams in the league and they’re chasing their 9th straight win, which would tie the franchise record.
Edmonton has a chance to tie the franchise best 9th win in a row against the Detroit Red Wings tonight at 5pm. The Oil currently have a 21-15-1 record on the year, sitting behind the Canucks, Golden Knights and Kings in the Pacific Division.
Oilers captain Connor McDavid spoke to media and said this team has the ability to win ‘ugly’ 2-1 games or go toe to toe with some of the best offenses as well.
The host Red Wings will come into the game well rested after going undefeated in California thanks to a 3-2 win against the Anaheim Ducks.
Head coach for the Oilers Kris Knoblauch says during an 82 game season, it’s hard to bring your best game night in and night out, but praised his teams resilience against the Blackhawks.
After the game in Detroit, Edmonton will be travelling to eastern Canada for some road matchups against the Montreal Canadiens and Toronto Maple Leafs.
