The CP Holiday Train is ready to hit the tracks for the 2023 season, with 23 stops across Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba from December 4-9.
Terry Cunha, spokesman from the CP Holiday Train spoke with Windspeaker Radio Network about bringing awareness to food insecurity and food banks throughout their many destinations.
Cunha says that CP is very fortunate of having three performing artists taking part in raising awareness for the Holiday Train that includes ‘The Anyway Gang’, Tyler Shaw and Kiesza.
Over the last 24 years if the Holiday Train’s run, the event has raised over 22 million and a half million dollars for local food banks, as well as 5 million pounds of food. As Cunha says it goes towards the increase in demand for those seeking food from their local food banks during a spike in food insecurity throughout the holiday season.
