The second annual Lenora’s No Frills Pumpkins in the Park event is set to bring Halloween spirit to Lagasse Park on October 31, with preparations already underway.
On October 30, the day before Halloween, everyone is invited to visit the St. Paul Rec Centre to pick out a pumpkin and carve it.
“This is a new addition this year, and anyone can participate. We will have pumpkins available at the Rec Centre for everyone to join in,” says Sarah Burton, the Town of St. Paul executive assistant.
“Once the pumpkins are carved, we will collect them to transport to the event the following day, where they will be used to line the lit pathway.”
In addition to the pumpkin carving event on October 30, Pumpkins in the Park on October 31 will be similar to last year’s format. A pathway lined with carved pumpkins will be set up at Lagasse Park. Local businesses and organizations will have stations along the route offering treats, prizes, and games.
“You can walk along a 300-meter lit pathway lined with carved pumpkins while visiting each trunk-or-treat station for goodies. And, of course, the St. Paul Fire Department’s grand finale—dropping a large pumpkin to close the evening—is always entertaining,” Burton adds.
“Last year’s attendance made it an easy decision to continue this event for the community.”
