This Saturday, the Royal Canadian Legion kicks off its yearly Poppy Campaign, inviting Canadians to show support for veterans and those who gave their lives in service.
The effort urges people across Canada to pin on a poppy as a personal commitment to remembrance in the lead-up to Remembrance Day.
Millions of Canadians wear the poppy each year as a clear sign of gratitude for the sacrifices that secured the freedoms enjoyed today.
Poppies are available at no cost to anyone who wants one, but donations are always welcome.
This remains a grassroots effort run by Legion branches in towns and cities nationwide, supporting veterans and families.
The campaign continues through November 11, the day Canadians pause for Remembrance Day services to honour both the living who served and those who never returned.
