Vandalized referendum signs seen in Fort McMurray (RCMP)
Wood Buffalo RCMP are investigating after vandals spray-painted seven Alberta referendum signs belonging to the third-party group “Let Alberta Decide”
RCMP in Fort McMurray learned of the vandalism on Thursday and believe the incidents took place sometime between September 29 and October 4.
Out of 11 signs, approved from both Elections Alberta and the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo—seven were targeted.
Police say damaged signs were located at these spots:
- two on Thickwood Boulevard
- two on Confederation Drive
- one on Hospital Street
- one on MacKenzie Boulevard
- one on Highway 63 opposite the dump station
